Our Story

Growing Food. Growing Community. Passing It On.

This farm grew out of a simple love of growing things - and a belief that farming is about much more than producing food.

We both grew up in the Philadelphia suburbs and have always been drawn to plants, animals, growing food, and the world around us. Over the years, our paths through agriculture and education have taken many different turns, but they have continued to bring us back to the same ideas:

Learn from one another. Share what you know. Make room for the next person.

That's what we're building here.

Farming Is About People

For us, farming has always been deeply connected to people and culture.

Food carries stories. Growing practices carry knowledge. Seeds, recipes, skills, and traditions are passed from one generation to the next - and sometimes from one community to another.

Our experience in agriculture has been shaped largely through learning from other people: farmers, educators, community members, students, and neighbors who were willing to share what they knew.

That experience has shaped one of our strongest beliefs:

Knowledge shouldn't be something that is kept behind a gate.

We believe farming is something people should be able to learn, experience, and share.

A Farm Can Be a Classroom

Education has always been an important part of our work.

We've seen what happens when students are given the opportunity to get their hands in the soil, care for plants and animals, ask questions, and figure things out for themselves.

Sometimes the most important thing a student learns on a farm isn't how to plant a seed.

It's realizing that they can learn something they've never done before.

It's discovering a new interest.

It's working alongside someone from a completely different background.

It's becoming curious about where food comes from and how the world around them works.

And sometimes, students teach us something too.

That's the kind of learning environment we want to continue creating.

From Farm to Farm Hub

Over time, our work has grown beyond simply growing food.

We've had the opportunity to work with and learn from many different farms, organizations, educators, students, and community partners. Each relationship has added another piece to the vision.

We're working toward a farm hub: a place where food, farming, education, and community can come together.

A place where farmers can collaborate.

A place where students can learn.

A place where families can connect with their food.

A place where knowledge can be shared rather than kept to a select few.

And a place where locally grown food can reach more people.

We're still building it.

Continuing the Work

This project also grew from a desire to continue work that had already begun.

Someone who was an important mentor and colleague in our agricultural work passed away in 2024. Rather than allowing the work we had started together to disappear, we decided to keep moving it forward.

That experience reinforced something we already believed:

The best work doesn't end with one person. It gets passed on.

We want this farm to be part of that kind of legacy—not just by remembering what others taught us, but by continuing to teach, collaborate, and make room for others to carry the work forward.

Why We Farm

We farm because we believe food connects people.

It connects us to the land.

To our communities.

To our histories and cultures.

To the people who taught us.

And to the people who will come after us.

We're interested in growing good food, but we're also interested in growing something bigger:

curiosity, knowledge, relationships, opportunity, and community.

That's why we work with other farmers.

That's why we work with students.

That's why we welcome new partners.

And that's why we're building something that is meant to grow beyond just us.

Come Grow With Us

The story of this farm isn't finished.

In fact, that's one of the things we like most about it.

There are still farms to meet, people to learn from, students to teach, partnerships to build, and ideas we haven't even thought of yet.

We'll keep growing, learning, and adding people to the journey.

We're glad you're here.
